Tanggung Jawab dalam Perspektif Al-Qur’an: Studi Tafsir Maudhu‘i dan Relevansinya bagi Pendidikan Islam Kontemporer
Abstract
Education for responsibility is a key dimension in the formation of Muslim character. The Qur’an contains various guidelines that foster awareness of personal, social, and environmental responsibility, making it highly relevant for the development of Islamic education curriculum. This study aims to describe and assess how the concept of responsibility is taught in the Qur’an through the tafsir maudu‘i (thematic exegesis) approach, as well as to explore its implications for instructional practice. The method employed is a library-based study using content analysis of Qur’anic verses related to responsibility (such as amanah, taklif, khilafah, and amar ma‘ruf nahi munkar) as presented in relevant thematic exegeses. The data are analyzed thematically to identify conceptual patterns and the relationships between the theme of responsibility, educational contexts, and character formation. The findings reveal several main themes: (1) personal responsibility, encompassing accountability for actions and self-awareness; (2) social responsibility, related to obligations toward family, society, and the environment; (3) the dimension of values education, including morality (akhlaq), integrity, and justice; and (4) conceptual pedagogical strategies recommended by tafsir maudu‘i, such as problem-based learning, case studies, moral reflection, and exemplary models drawn from the prophets and messengers. The conclusion indicates that tafsir maudu‘i provides a theoretical framework for linking theological teachings on responsibility with educational practice, thereby enriching Islamic learning curriculum through the mapping of Qur’anic verses into structured learning units.
