Abstract

The division of inheritance in Muslim families has the potential to cause conflict due to low understanding of inheritance rights, differences in the application of law, customary influences, and unclear property management. This study aims to analyze the understanding of inheritance rights from the perspective of Islamic Family Law, the role of family education in preventing conflicts, and the application of Islamic inheritance law principles as a strategy for conflict prevention and resolution. The research uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method through analysis of Islamic legal literature, previous research, and relevant academic sources. The results of the study show that the understanding  of faraid needs to be built from within the family through parental example, open communication, transparency, and deliberation. Conflict prevention can be strengthened through compliance with the Qur'an and Sunnah, takharuj, grants, wills, al-radd, and inheritance law education. Thus, inheritance rights education is a preventive strategy to increase legal awareness, protect the rights of heirs, and maintain family harmony according to the principles of Islamic Family Law
